As predicted...

The Mighty Tigers fell to the Elks yesterday 17-4, eliminating them in the first round of the playoffs. All in all, the Tigers went 7-9 for the season uncluding yesterday's loss.
Tiger coach went with a new defensive alignment, moving the Allstar to 2nd base, Coach's son to 3rd base and Fireman's Son to the outfield. The move was done to spread out the reliable gloves as much as possible to all fields. What I believe is that in a league like SBPW, where coaches employ aggressive baserunning tactics, you need a reliable glove at catcher. Perhaps it's a shortcoming of the team, but that's baseball.
The Allstar went 3-4, hitting 3 singles and flying out once. His second base play was Ok for an inexperienced player at that position. He missed some backup assignments and in some situations, kept a foot glued to the base in attempts to force out runners, when he should've stepped off the bag and keep the ball from getting by. A tough position, no doubt, but I'm sure with practice, his play will improve.
